Reported Speech

The words that people say are called Direct Speech.
Reported speech is used to describe what someone said at an earlier point in time.

After you watch this lesson, you will have a better understanding of how to use Reported Speech in your everyday English conversations. 

You will see that reported speech can be used with the verb “say” and “tell”.

Reported speech can also take on many different verb forms such as present tense, past tense and even the continuous tense.
